When you say 'lacks power', be more specific. Is it significantly worse than it used to be, or are you just basing your opinion on how it feels compared to another car?
A 1.2 Grande Punto is a pretty gutless car by all accounts, and if you're just putting your foot down at 50mph in 5th gear there's not much going to happen.
If you mean it struggles to chug up a hill at more than 20mph then take it to a garage.
It's 8 years old and it's a 1.2 litre engine which is probably in poor nick. Trade it in for something with torque. A 1.9 turbo diesel will flatten out all hills and cost less in fuel than your 1.2.
Drive up on a lower gear if you already do, then buy a new car.
You're going uphill, so you're not going to get as much power.
