The owners manual in the glove compartment will explain how to fully open and close the hood with the latch under the front of the hood.
Under the hood there is a latch. Depends if it's a old car. If you have a pull to open the hood that wire could be broke to the latch.
There is most likely a saftey release latch under the front of the hood or sometimes in the grill. that might be your problem
If you are incapable of figuring out how the hood works, you shouldn't be driving.
I don't think so, I think it might just be jammed, I am sure its an easy fix

i pressed the thing to open it by mistake now it wont close fully or open. did i break the car??? there were no accidents
