If you have a AAA membership, towing service is 24 hours. Depending on your membership level you may be limited to under 100miles. Premium members get 200 miles I believe. Time of day doesn't matter, it's towing distance that matters.
Start by calling a few towing companies, did you speak to a driver or did a driver call you back within 10 or 15 minutes? if no then cancel and call other tow comp. till a human answers.
Having a service that is 24hours, does not have any bearing on what fees would be paid at any given hour.
it's really terrible. Only thing to do is wait for towing service car come earlier.

If it’s daylight, put on your emergency blinkers to alert oncoming traffic to the fact that your vehicle isn’t moving.
What do you do if your car breaks down after dark? Is the towing service 24hr? Is it extra for after dark towing?
