Can my truck pass smog with no muffler?

I do not know about passing smog but, without a muffler, he can expect a ticket from the police because it will not pass any city noise ordinance. He will also be given only so many days to get a muffler put on. What is wrong with him? Is he deaf. Does he need to hear the car loud and clear in order to know that it is running? It sounds like he has some mental problem. The police can straighten him out on that, and they will, hopefully, before he annoys the neighbors who call the police on him.

Not legally. But if your convrter is still intact you may well pass. Not a visual inspection tho. Go buy urself a 30 $ universal Thrush muffler. They are cheap but cutting the exhaust or poking holes will just make it sound terrible.

Removing the muffler completely will be far louder than you think it will and I'll guarantee you the cops will notice.

Nope, you need to have your catalytic converter and mufflers on your car. Its required by law too.

Nope

Best thing to do is just leave it alone. The tickets you will get for the noise will be more than set of glass packs.

I have a 1989 dodge ram with a 318 small block and I want to cut off my muffler to enhance the sound and yes I know it will be progressively louder please don't remind me, I just want to know if it can pass smog? I have also heard the drilling holes in your muffler makes it louder, does anyone know about this? I want a way to make my truck louder without paying money
