Bring it in and see what you did to it.
Best get it to the tranny shop, you could've damaged it with the pull if it was in gear.
I would first clean off the mud underneath to make sure it is wedged against something. I have seen that happen. Clean it up first & yes to your question, if you like to slam in it drive & then back into reverse rocking it is extremely harsh on a transmission
ok first of you have to make it into a mud truck (lift,bigger tires, different axels...ect) second off yes you will have to get a new transmission

I took my 2004 ford f150 extended cab mudding... Took it through some deep ruts and bottomed out twice... I got yanked out by a bigger truck and my truck started showing a "TRANS FAULT" message... There is mud caked on under my truck, it is driving okay but I did notice that it is taking a little bit longer to get going and when it starts going, it kicks hard like I juts pressed the gas really hard. Will I need a new transmission?
