Can i upgrade my headlights?

Hi fitting of HID to an old car is A illegal and B it will fail it's next MOT. as they where never part of the original design.

yes some of the blue tint lights will give a brighter light.

as for what evelyn is suggesting well provided the wiring can take the extra current fine.

however some have caused a car to catch on fire.

so as expense of the blue tinted ones increases light by anything from 100-200% they are a better bet.

Forget the chavvy blue tint ones, get a pair of Osram Nightbreakers.

I think the question is about fitting blue tinged halogen bulbs not HIDs.

The blue tinged "high temperature lights give you less illumination than the regular more yellowish ones.

Only buy an HID kit if you are changing the entire housing of the light, otherwise it is illegal and MOT fail! I'm not sure why your bulbs are blowing so frequently. I recommend buying xenon filled bulbs which are 55W (don't get 100W bulbs as these are too bright and glaring for on coming drivers and tend to blow more quickly). For the polo I believe they have H7 for the dipped beams so these will be good:

Ive got a similar one on my golf and they have the right tint of blue (and brightness) to give the illusion of HIDs. So far they have lasted for more than a year with no problems!

The HID headlights have different power requirements. It's not a simple matter of changing the bulb. The entire headlight kit can be bought for about $250.00

The blue tinge ones are not the best ones for light output

That problem with your bulds suggests that you have electrical troubles

i own a 2004 VW Polo Twist TDI

Im looking to see if i can change my headlight bulbs to those with the blue tinge

my bulbs seem to consently blow out and never be bright enough to light up the road.

i have brought every bulb possible for my car from cheap to expensive and they all seem to blow within 4-6 weeks and be so so dim.

if i can get these blue tinge headlights, will the fuse be strong enough for them?
