You might be able to find it at a junk yard or new locally but you will probably pay a lot more for it. You can get a ticket for having a broken tail light. I wired up a cheap, generic light on my truck until my replacement arrived in the mail. You could probably use the red tape mentioned by others but that won't pass the safety inspection in my state.
