They shouldn't get better by themselves. Brakes are made to stop the vehicle. There should not have been any damage done to the brakes by stopping the vehicle with the brakes. How are they worse?
Have they been bled correctly ? If you press the pedel, is it hard normal or just hoes down with no effort ?
New brake pads have a waxy coat on em, like new tires... Only way is to use em and usem a lot. Doesnt take long usually
take it back to the shop that did the work. They should be able to handle a panic stop without damage.
More than likely the shop did something wrong and now it has failed, take it back and have them inspect and repair whatever is wrong!
I got new brakes on Thursday and had only driven about 50 miles on then when I had a kid jump out in front of me and had to slam down on them. Now they are worse before I got them changed. I was just around the corner from my house when it happened and my car has been sitting in my driveway since then. Is it possible that my brakes will tighten back up or are the shoot for good?
