Cables got reversed when jump starting prius. Now car won't start. What could be the problems?

There is a battery fuse (100A, if I remember right) in line with just the battery. I presume it is blown. Unfortunately, I don't know the location and the model year probably matters for that. I have the most experience with 2002 (first generation) and the second/third generations are very different.

Anything electronic in the system could be fried, including the main engine management computer. Get it towed to a dealer and see if it's worth fixing.

a blown fuse, damaged charging system or a few other issues like that. we all have those days. i fried the voltage regulator in mine doing that once but my cables are reversed in color due to the availability at that time.

You fried the battery. I'm amazed that it didn't overheat and burst.

Hi so now it needs a toyota dealer to sort out the car. as it will need spare parts.

under the hood MAIN FUSE supplies alternator and ignition voltage.... you may have blown some smaller fuses too.

Prolly100 amps or so............

Red is + and black is -. WTF??

My car sat for a few days and wouldn't start. I jumped it and it started but than died once I took the cables off. I jumped it again but this time the cables on the car jumping it got reversed.

Now nothing at all will work on the car. I checked the 120 amp main fuse but it is not blown. I replaced the 12v battery but that did nothing.

What else could have gotten messed up while trying to jump it????
