Normal for rice burners. The husks turn black and infiltrate the coolant through the snogbozzle passages.
Yes
Writing something looking black tells us very little. If there was oil in the coolant, it would rise to the top and collect in the reservoir. If you have not checked it in 6 month, then being low is likely normal. You really have not told us enough.
Why are asking for guesses? The owner's manual of this Nissan product has the service schedule. Coolant is replaced on a year of service or miles driven basis. If you have never checked the coolant before who knows what is going on. What I suspect, and you never mention, is that this is a new car for you. Without the proper machines no one can do a proper coolant service. The old coolant is toxic and needs to be disposed properly. I suggest you find an auto repair shop and have a mechanic look at what you think is a problem. Allow the mechanic to inspect the car and then suggest what is needed.
Was the engine cool when you checked?
You probably just need a coolant flush. I do coolant flushes at 100,000 miles before I replace my water pump, thermostat, hoses, etc... Afterwards I install all new parts, and coolant. The only thing I didn't replace was the heater core, and radiator. I have clean coolant, especially for a GMC, since the plastic intake gets eaten up by DexCool. I dread the heater core on mine because in order to replace it, the entire dashboard gets disassembled; thanks GM. Sorry for the long love note, but I just wanted to share some items and procedures you may consider. Make sure you remove the coolant galley plug (if equipped) for a thorough inspection. You may find rust, debris, etc...
read your owners for the maintenance schedule
Lol
My 350z just hit 50k miles and im going to flush and fill coolant well when i looked the level was right below MIN!?? and looked black X.x Does this mean i have a leak? there is nothing ever below the ground... blown head gasket? not any white smoke or smells. is this just normal on 50k mile original coolant?
