Sounds like rick could be right or simply the + or - terminal connection is loose. The battery became "disconnected" for a short time which caused the lights. The problem went away because the connection reestablished itself.

2 days ago i bought a new battery for my f-150 after driving for a day just as i am turning into my driveway my battery and check engine lights go on..if i remember it died as well..then i turn the key off and restart it no prob..this has never happened before.i usd a new positive terminal as well looks like my lines to alt are fine...any thoughts?
