Brake pad shims for the rear brakes?

Reuse the old ones. This happens. Don't worry the old ones are perfect to use. Just clean them up a bit.

Not all brakes need shims but most now have some sort of anti squeal device. .either shims or adhesive pad or anti seize grease applied to back of pads.

If we have not any supplied? Then try without. If we then get brake squeal? We need shims or other anti squeal device.

not sure

I do not know

I am replacing the brake pads for my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (Both the front and back). I bought the pads but the ones I got for the rear brakes did not come with the metal brackets or shims. I have the URL here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C1Q6IC/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER. I'm confused because the front brake pads I bought for the car came with shims and everything.

Do the rear pads need shims or are they only for the front brake pads? I also have the URL for the front pads here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000C02LFK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Thank you!
