The cost of doing what you want to on a ten year old car seems like a waste of time and money and a risk of doing damage to the engine that will for sure end its life on the road. What you want to do with your time and money is up to you and if you choose to do it I would Google for information and not depend on a bunch of Yahoo's here for good info.
If you don't drop the compression ratio then it will last about a month. Sell it and buy an old impreza turbo.
jj is spot on. its extremely rare to be worth modifying a car to fit a turbo due to factors such as costs of part(s) e.g. manifold .turbo. gaskets.pipe work . edu mods etc plus in many cases ( in fact all likely) it adds higher costs to insurance.
cheaper to trade in for a turbo car..
Okay. So i own a 2004 Saturn Ion, 2.2L Ecotec. Im looking into installing a turbo or supercharger. I was wondering how many pounds of boost on the turbo and how many pounds of boost i could run on the supercharger with stock internals? Or would i have to upgrade my stock internals? What internals would i have to upgrade to supercharge/ turbo? Please no negative comments. Yes i know its a 4banger, yes i still want to boost it even if people will say im a "rice rocket". Thank you for commenting, and have a nice day.
