if the engine is blown you will need to get a new engine, you would be better off buying a new engine for it. you could get the stock f22b1 engine it had, or you can upgrade to a jdm h22a engine. people who say that your screwed and are in a money pit just don't like hondas at all, don't listen to them especially sonny.
the red top engine is the h22a, the black top engine is a f22b1/h23a1 (couldn't add it on)
"OK so, a "blown" engine usually means a rod has disconnected itself and done severe damage internally to the engine, and most of the time, this means the engine is useless, except as a boat anchor.
If that's the case here, you're wasting your money. I would find out what really IS wrong before handing over any money.
try and fire it lol. personally i wouldnt give more than $200 for that yard art if it has a catalytic converter still. your asking for a headache. its been beat on 21 yrs
no if he blew the engine then your best bet would be to just get a new engine
Check the block for internal components that are now external.
Caveat emptor.... Let the Buyer beware
Don't you think he would have already done that if it was so simple ?
old import = money pit
Okay so im buying a 1993 honda prelude the guy said the engine is blown. It was blown whenever he bought it. Is there a way that i can find out if it was just the head or head gasket?
