At the slave open the bleeder fluid should come out. With the bleeder still open by hand use the pushrod (clutch folk) and push it into the body of the slave cylinder. Fluid will squirt out so be carful. with it pushed in close the bleeder. Now you should have a firm pedal and it should shift. Top up clutch fluid.
Note: if the clutch still dos not shift the clutch disk could be in backwards usually the front face is stamped or marked when installing them.
SORRY! You will need a POWER BLEEDING TOOL for this job! WHile you are AT it, do the BRAKE SYSTEM as well! use ONLY GENUINE EUROPEAN GRADE DOT 4 fluid from a SEALED AIR TIGHT container! Use ATE GIRLING or PENTOSIN brake fluid ONLY! and NOT from AUTO PARTS TORE JUNK! You have NO real choice other than a POWER BLEEDER! most auto stores have them for about $50 or so! You may need a source of AIR PRESSURE like a AIR COMPRESSOR< or just pay the $100 at ANY good EURO repair place for a FULL HIGH PRESSURE BRAKE# and CLUTCH FLUID change! GOOD LUCK with it!
Short and simple: Same old ... s**t:

What?
87 alpha spider-- just put in new clutch, have done everything I have read or heard to bleed clutch and nothing works. I have put in many clutches and never had a problem. What help can you give me. Can't shift--no pedal no driving it.
