Bike Engine Oil- Can I use 15W40 Jaso MA in My Hero Xtreme where the suggested is 10W30.?

It should have no effect at all, considering the high ambient temperatures you have.

The two numbers are the the equivalent single-grade oil viscosities / thicknesses at low and high temperatures. (A single-grade oil thins out very quickly as it gets hot; a multigrade does not this so much).

Having a high first figure could make starting in freezing conditions a bit harder; I don't think that's a problem.

A higher second figure means the oil is not thinning out quite so much when hot, so protecting the engine better.

The only down side may be *fractionally* worse fuel consumption as the thicker oil will cause a tiny but more drag in the engine. Again, only a real problem in cold climates.

I can't help on the oil quantity; if the engine has a dip stick or level plug, make sure the oil level is OK; much too high or much too low will both wreck the engine.

Yes, and it will shift much smoother. The 15W stock base will work fine above 25C. Your engine oil capacity is 1.2L so you should have to add .2L

It will be harder for engine to drive in low temperature. I suggest 20w40 or 10w30 will be nice.

Plz Guys Help me...

My bike just clocked 5000 KMS, last oil change was at 2800kms so i changed the engine oil with "Castrol Power 1 15W40" full 1litter.

Hero recommends 10W30 Jaso MA.

Will it be a major Problem?

I am from Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Now temperature here is more than 35'c, but rainy days are coming so temp will be below 25'C.

And I have poured full 1 litter in the engine so will it be a problem of oil leakage/ overflow?
