Plugged radiator most likely... possible water pump starting to go bad. you have an internal water pump or one that is covered by the timing belt cover. you may or may not see a leak. Start with the radiator look at it and see how much damage is on the outside how dirty it may be taking it to a car wash and power spraying both sides of it may help for a bit..

Your cooling system has several components. Radiator, water pump and a fan or two. They all must be in working order. Sense you don't know this you need to get to a mechanic get your car diagnosed and fixed before you do serious damage to the car.

my bet second fan not coming on 2nd fan is high speed fan should come on at idle or stopped when you have no airflow after you drive car and park open hood and see if both fans are working

if you have 2 fans, make sure both are working

Have a 96 accord that keeps overheating. The car has the correct amount of coolant. It 95% of the time only does it when the car is stopped. Also when I shut the engine off, one of the fans (it's the one at the very front of the car on the right side) continues to run for about five minutes after turning the car off. Any suggestions of what it could be?
