Accidentally put desiel in gas truck?

It should be fine. It is possible that the diesel could degrade the oxygen sensor and the catalytic converter but I personally wouldn't worry about it. You may want to refill the tank again when it's half empty to dilute it again.

The 300,000 miles will really help. In engines with high compression and good rings the diesel can accumulate in the cylinders, eventually hydrolocking the engine, if run on the freeway. With worn rings the diesel drains too rapidly to be a menace.

The funny thing is that a diesel fuel nozzle is larger than a standard gas nozzle and cannot be inserted into the fuel receptacle. The result should have been fuel spraying a splashing all over in the course of attempting this.

Enjoy!

I would have siphoned out the diesel before adding the real stuff.

Run the tank to nearly empty then drain it before refilling with unleaded..Give it an oil change just in case diesel has found its way into the crankcase and diluted your engine oil.

Keep watering it down with gas.

If it isn't smoking like a big dog now, it'll be fine

My girlfriend wanted to put gas in my truck so I let her. I was on empty when she started pumping. I look over and see she's putting in desiel. She got 2 gallons in before in noticed. I then FILLED my tank with unleaded gas like it should have been. I drove 10 miles to my house and it was running fine. just wondering if anything too serious can happen? it's pretty diluted so could it be okay? I don't want it to gel up or mess up my engine. it's a 2001 Chevy silverado 1500 with about 300,000 miles. let me know guys. thanks.
