A Car Question?

Posted at: 2015-01-07
Running the car hard for short periods of time won't hurt anything. However, it may draw out problems that were already starting to occur. For professional technicians who work on cars for a living, going out on the highway and flooring the throttle through a couple of gears is a very common method for analyzing the operation of the engine, fuel system, and computer controls. It also helps to draw out those "intermittent" problems that occur only occasionally, making it possible to find the cause.

Wouldn't make a habit of it.

He's just testing it out so he knows it'll be ok for you on the highway. The governor wouldn't go so high if it wasn't ok for the engine to drive that fast.

Mechanical problems, no. But marital problems, good chance.

Honey? Is that you?

Love you!!!

My idiot husband while driving my 99 Grand Am pressed the gas all the way to 90 maybe even 100 or 110 mph. Now I just bought this car it isn't in GREAT condiotons but it does get me around. My question is since he went at that speed am I expecting any mechanical problems or failures. So far the car is good, no problems. Its not heating up, its turning on just how it is and has been since I bought it. But am I in store for any mechanical problems?
