95 accord wagon won't move, loud grinding sound when in gear?

Gosh, you tell us that the car is 19 years old - - - - but not how many miles are on the transmission or at what intervals you had it serviced. . . . can't make a sensible guess with so little info.

a transmission for a car that old would only cost about 200 bucks at a scrapyard. if you had a mechanic install it, itll end up costing around 800. but you probably have a bad throwout bearing or one of the gears clutch packing went out. regardless, youll either need a new transmission or new car entirely

its a internal problem with the transmission at that age find transmission in a junkyard. rebuilt from transmission shop will be more than the car is worth

engine starts and runs fine but won't move sounds like that part found on every car that some people forget they have one. It is called a transmission and when you shift you engage the transmission. When was the last time you changed the fluid and filter in the transmission? Never I bet!

New transmissions can cost a lot of money. Since the car is 19 years old, scrap it and get something else.

I have a 95 Accord wagon that won't drive. never had any transmission problems but one day driving car just started making a loud grinding noise and stop accelerating while I was driving. car starts up fine and sounds good while in park but once in any other gear a loud grinding noise starts and it will move at all. any ideas what it could be?
