90000 mile service cost?

Yeah, and most of it is the cost of replacing the timing belt. This is all routine maintenance that needs to be done.

Yep, sounds about right - in fact, it's a screamin' deal if you are getting a "radiator" for $70!! (You obviously left out a word or two!) That quote is actually quite reasonable for the timing belt kit and labor. However, the "maintenance pkg" is absolute rubbish. Refuse that one thing and you're good to go.

What does not sound right is that you listed amounts of money with the dollar sign, $, before the numbers. $33 is correct. "33" is not. What does not sound right is the word for BRAKES is listed as "breaks." You can break a car by crashing it. But you can slow a car with BRAKES. A number is typically written with a comma for the thousands. 90,000 miles is correct. 90000 miles, not correct. The "service" you list is not a service. A service is an inspection to repair issues and to check items and to do what is listed by the manufacture. The brake issue was a necessary repair. The oil issue was a repair. The wires was a repair. The timing belt was a scheduled service. The coolant was a service. I have no clue what is a "fuel saving maintenance package.:" The "service" part was actually not much money. From what I know, this car had been neglected and all of these items added up. Brakes are in need of inspection each year. Oil leaks and other issues are in need of immediate repairs. The free oil change was a nicety. Count your blessing. This could have been more serious repairs and more expensive as well. Now, I trust the shocks are not original? These are serviced or changed about every 50,000 to 60,000 miles. And they are not free either. Good luck.

The prices for service are about as you'd expect to find anywhere else, but you could easily save $109 by telling them you don't want the "fuel saving maintenance package" and whatever nonsense that entails. You don't need it. I wouldn't pay for it on my own car. You'd probably be just as well served by pouring a bottle of Chevron Techron fuel system cleaner in your gas tank next fill up and making sure your tires are all properly inflated. That would be about $100 cheaper than their magical mystical fuel saving package and would likely achieve the same result.

Does it sound reasonable that these services should cost $1313? I live in Maryland. 2001 Toyota Camry is in for its 90000 mile service:

gasket for oil leak 47

wires and spark plugs because of the oil leak 138

110 engine labor

breaks 80 pads

brakes 100 install

water pump and timing belt kit 288

440 labor timing belt

oil change free

radiator 70

coolant drain fill 70

fuel saving maintenance pkg 109

disposal fees 11

Total: 1463

Discount: 150

Final: 1313
