6v battery testing?

Hi if this battery has been left in a discharged state for sometime it will be useless. so that is why the charger will not charge it.

you need to replace the battery.

In the circumstances I suggest you buy a new battery and use that. You may have shorted a cell in the old battery.

Often batteries just sitting around not working just go dead.

Thanks I will do,

Hi, I've a ride on toy that runs on a 6v battery. When purchasing this, I tested that it worked then put away for a year or so til my lad was older enough. The battery went flat after some good use. I realised I had a USA charger so silly me bought a Europe adapter but it did nothing. So I contacted injusa and they sent me uk charger. It charges for 10 seconds then cuts out. So I'm wondering if I've fried the battery using USA one or if it's because we let the battery run out? How do I check the battery? I've looked up voltmeters but only seeing ones that check your everyday batteries, thanks to all that can can help :) be future reference as need to check on a couple of scooters that also won't charge
