4.3 vortec into 92 prelude?

North / South engine in an East / West body? Not practical.

What you need is a H22A1 Honda Vtec alloy engine. 2.2 litre, but the same ~200 hp as the 4.3 GMC boat anchor.

That fits, points in the right direction, weighs the right amount, and will actually go well, and the car will still handle properly.

Part out your Sierra and use the $$ to buy a Honda engine, it will make you life about 100X easier.

Not going to work/fit without completely fabricating a new chassis.

New front and rear suspension, some sort of frame, tunnel to rear end, rear end... would have to get rid of most of the interior/dash as the tunnel would be massive...

If you have the fab skills and cash, why not use something other than a $300 Chevy boat anchor?

Anything is possible with the right tools and knowledge but it would take a lot of customization and fabrication to make this swap possible.

If you did finally manage to shoehorn the GM engine inside the Honda engine bay, you would have one very front-heavy vehicle.

the 4.3 vortex engine is for a rear wheel drive vehicle, honda prelude is front wheel drive. looks like its gonna take alot of conversion work to carry this out.

Although one of best engines ever made it will not fit in a lot of vehicles. At 190 HP and 280 torque is quit fast in any vehicle or boat. it will cost more in modifications than a new car.

flat out, it would not fit. the engine and trans should not even bolt up. if they did, the two should be too wide to fit in the engine bay.

You're talking about alot of work, alot of swaps are "possible" but I mean.. lol come on.

youll never get a hood on it, but with some cutting and welding, that whoopd can happen

I got rear ended in my 97 sierra and I was wondering If I could throw the 4.3 vortec into my 92 prelude rolling shell any things possible what about putting in the standard transmission is what I'm trying to figure out what will fit???
