My first guess would be fuel pump but with so little to go on not much of a guess.
Have an OBD2 code check done to see what has malfunctioned. You can buy one of these readers for a lot less than the shop would charge to use theirs, unless you manage to get this car to a store that does free OBD reading. Don't just start replacing stuff without knowing what is broke and what is not broke.

It sounds like misfiring but could be even more simple, like the fuel system, ie filter (this can cause shutdown) but I doubt this would cause a 'shaking'
Got this text from Daughter this morning concerning her 08 G6.
It starts for a couple of seconds then the whole car shakes and it shuts off.
I know the info is vague to say the least. I am at work right now and have not had a chance to look at it right now. I am trying to find a few ideas on what I may need to start with.
