I would avoid personally unless its full synthetic like mobil 1, what an idiot. Just follow the GM owners manual and those have lights that tell you when to change it. More important to change OIL than filter, that is well known.
I would not buy this. I'm sure the oil changes aren't the only thing he skipped. You most likely will go broke repairing this neglected vehicle. Your friend is a fool.
It is far more important to change the filter than to change the oil, so he is not all bad. But if I bought it, I would change the oil first thing.
The additives in his oil wore out years ago. Buyer beware.
my friend has a 2002 tahoe that he's selling i was thinking about buying it but when i ask how often he changes the oil he said never he only changes the filter and top of the oil when needed, the engine sounds great, could this engine be damaged
