1993 TOYOTA CAMRY TIMING BELT BROKE ARE THE VALVES BENT?

I had an earlier Camry and the belt went but it was one of the few cars that did not wreck the engine when it snapped. You may still have hope it's just the belt. But I hope you do better than me - the new Camry belt snapped after about a week. But the engine was still fine so the mechanic did not charge labour to fit yet another one. The engine went on for thousands of miles, until the tin worm killed it. Sad. It is a nice car.

First best answer to Holey Mufflers. More on it - later V6s with VVT-i may be interference when the cam is shifted for high rpm but even that is widely debated... nobody seems to know of anybody's engine that had mashed valves because of it. Anyway, yours are okay.

Install a new belt PROPERLY( making sure the timing marks are lined up). See if it runs right .

most likely what engine is in it look it up on line see if it is a an interference if it is then yes they are bent

Yes the valves are bent.

ARE THE VALVES BENT?

NO!

the 5S-FE I4 and the 5VZ-FE V6 engines offered in this are both non-interference type engines.

so no valve to piston contact.

Most likely. Especially if the engine shut off after this happened.
