1991 Accord EX problems?

Posted at: 2015-01-07
Well I have noticed that my fuel tank is dirty because my old fuel Filter was it looked like rust almost and don't want to lower the tank to clean it its a hell of a job did it once... Could it might just possibly the dirty tank? The fuel Filter was installed same as old one except I bought this one at AutoZone and came with bronze and silver O rings for with the fuel Filter I put the 2 big bronze one on but left the 1 small bronze O ring and 1 small silver one plus 2 bigger silver one's as I did not knowwhere to place them could it also be that? And if so where do there all go? There are 6 in total I put 2 on already thanks! Airborne!

fuel filter in backwards ? Did it have a filter sock on the fuel pump ? To check EGR disconnect vacuum line plug and test drive.

Thanks for your service!

There is a procedure that involves sucking some carb cleaner gas additive into the vacuum line of the intake and while it is hot and thus clearing it out. Some will pour the rest in the oil and drive it around for a while and change the oil after a couple hundred miles. Look it up on the web to find the whole procedure.

I am thinking to check for old or cracked vacuum hoses. Maybe changing the fuel filter knocked something loose and is blocking the line, take off the filter and see if you can back flush the fuel line from where it connect to the fuel rail and maybe after the filter to the tank. No smoking be careful and have a fire extinguisher ready.

Hi am a US veteran looking for serious answers only. Former infantryman currently own a 1991 honda accord ex which I bought for 600$, I have owned it for about 8 months and have fixed the car up myself I am a pretty good mechanic but not perfect. With that said the list of parts are as follwed: New fuel Pump, New fuel Filter, New Head gasket, New plug wires, New distributor cap, New injectors among many other. I am probably listing all buy may have forgotten some parts anyways... My car was running fine with an old dirty fuel Filter until recently when I changed it out and replaced with a new one. Now my car is losing power when after 3rd gear or higher during acceleration and seems to "choke" what can possibly cause this to happen I have done everything I can think of but nothing yet... Grrr! Could it possibly a bad egr? And help from CB7 owners or real honda for life people got any answers? I really need my car to go to my VA appointments God bless all 'Merica! (ALSO CAR IS AUTO... :(
