we had a TR7 in or fleet, I drove occasionally, IMHO the old Saab 9000T conv was a lot more fun to drive, but sounds like you may be sitting on a piece of history...And I thought my buddy was crazy...sorry Mark, You may check with http://www.johnscars.com/tr7.html they may be able to steer you to an engine..Triumph wasn't involved with...
Anyone know what V8 Rover(Buick) engine was used in the TR8?
Here's how I got rid of the anemic four-banger that came in mine . . .
This help? http://www.tr7.co.uk/tr7-create-a-tr8.ht...
I have a 1975 Triumph TR7 in very good shape. Very good. The only thing is, it came with a Saab slanted four cylinder engine of the time. Not to offend Saab owners and lovers, but that engine is crap. The one I have will definitely have to be replaced. 1. Is there anything that will go straight in and mount to the transmission?
2. Mount up with a simple adapter plate? 3. Will I need to pull the tranny too and replace all, and what do you suggest? Thanks in advance.
