Will wheel bearing effect handling?

Most definitely the wheel bearing causes drift, vibration, and a rumble that a radio cannot hide. Get the bearing done first and take it out on the highway. If the vehicle wanders or pulls, then get the alignment done. If it starts a vibration over 30 mph (50 kph), either in the steering wheel (front wheels) or you feel it in your seat (rear wheels) , have a tire balance done Chances are very good that the wheel bearing replacement will cure all your ills without additional work needed.

Yes it should cure the problem, assuming the top and bottom suspension pivots are unworn. A good wheel bearing has some movement when rocked at 12 and 6 o'clock. But it is very small. Rock it at 9 and 3 o'clock too. If there is more movement the track rod end needs renewing.

If you are absolutely sure none of the front suspension parts (four tie-rod ends, two lower ball-joints four sway bar links) are loose, which a four wheel alignment will find, a new American made SKF or Timkin wheel bearing should help the problem.

It will certainly help. If you have that much play in a bearing it's not safe to drive, certainly at 70 mph

sounds like the ball joint and that is a dangerous situation. it could fail on the highway and kill you. yes getting it fixed would be a good idea

you could have a bad bearing too, I don't know.

Yes.

You think? Get it off the road and repaired before you kill someone.

Hello everyone

I bought a Astra vxr and after buying it I heard a rumble sound and vibration after 60-70mph! So annoying

Also when I'm driving it will sway sometimes or pulls a little one direction!

Feels like the handling is really bad.

So I jacked it up and checked all the wheels.. and the front right wheel has loads of play I can wobble it with my hands.

So if I get the wheel bearing done

Wheels balanced

And tracking done

Will this solve this problem. Any help will be greatful.
