we can reach the ultimate in technology only by understanding the universe down to its finest detail.
I think that is beyond us mortals.
The question is will we get off this rock before it expires or will greed, politics, stupidity and complacency keep us busy with "more important" things until it's too late. The dinosaurs are extinct because they didn't have a space program.
