(Seems to me your car was "giving" you plenty of warning, That a failure was about to happen, And yet you simply ignored it, And now you have turned a simple quick fix into a possible VERY EXPENSIVE repair, I would venture to say, That you more then likely have ruined your rotor's,>>.(that's the "tin can" sound you was hearing), And caused allot of heat transfer, which in turn has more then likely "cooked" the wheel bearing grease, And now you have wheel bearing noise. When all you really needed at the first sign of this "issue" was to simply have you brake pads changed out, Approx. a 15 minute job, and if you do it yourself would of had cost you, around 25 maybe 40 dollars. But now you have to buy wheel bearing's hopefully your( Spindle has not suffered severe damage ) You be able to tell if it has yellowish/blue hue to it, which would mean now you have to replace your spindles, wheel bearings, rotor's and you brake pads, providing you didn't "seize up" your brake caliper's, You created a myriad of problems, simply by not maintaining your motor vehicle, costing literally hundreds if not a 1,000's of dollars in repairs, And I know exactly what you will do, You will "trade" that motor vehicle off now, And some other unsuspecting person will purchase the motor vehicle you tore up, and now those issue's are the next person's problems all because you didn't maintain your motor vehicle.
highly unlikely. most of those kind of warranty will only cover the power train warranty. as for your brakes. if you knew they were bad you should have gotten them fix. driving a car around with bad brakes is the dumbest thing anybody can do.
We don't have a copy of your extended warranty, so we don't know . . . . . . why don't YOU read it and answer your own question.
But I'm amazed that you have an extended warranty - didn't know they were available on 12 year old cars.
So I bought this 2003 Saturn ion about 2 months ago and at first it was driving fine and I was happy with it but then the problems started the first problem was that the service vehicle light kept coming on and then it would make a sound to accompany it then the breaks started to make a clunking sound, then the breaks started to make a horrible sound that was like slowly opening a rusty tin can and now I the breaks are taking way to long to activate and I almost got in to an accident that would have been my fault which I can't afford so my question is since I have an extended warranty would it cover these issues.
