Engineering won't just be "in demand" in the future, engineers *make* the future. Engineers are the reason why the future is expected to be different from the present.
Engineering has been around for thousands of years. The Ancient Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Aztecs, Chinese, and Incas had civil engineers. Now we have electrical engineers, computer engineers, mechanical engineers, materials science engineers, aerospace engineers, and biomedical engineers. Each branch can be subdivided into further categories or specialites. Engineering will continue to evolve far into the future just as it did in the past.

Yes and the only sector that will remain in demand for even longer is Medical Surgeon.
Lets see, engineering has been around for hundreds of years. I don't see it going away any time soon unless we want to stop making anything new or improving anything.
