If you are checking resistance of spark plug LEADS, you need to be on a high ohms range, and NOT with engine trying to start or whatever.
However even if you had 1 faulty plug lead, the engine should still start.
Battery, starter, alternator all good, what about fuel? What are you saying "stops having resistance", as that's nonsense?
You have a problem where your car does not start. Why don't you state that, give a make and model, and place the question in the right category, where people who may know "reside"?
Also include whether it stopped while driving it, whether it overheated or made noises, started to run badly, or just failed to start after previously being OK, and tell what work if any has been done on the car's engine recently.
P.S. A common cause of modern cars suddenly failing to start is a jammed fuel pump, located in the fuel tank. The usual roadside temporary cure for that is to give a thump to the fuel tank, with the ignition ON. If you are lucky, the car may then start, and keep going long enough to get it to a repairer.
Measuring resistance on a live circuit is one way to fry a test meter. Does your starter motor turn? If it doesn't do that it isn't getting 12volts. Your plugs are just about the last thing to check. Basic auto mechanics is check the battery and 12V. Check for a spark and check the fuel,\
You could have bad starter relay, bad starter, bad fuel, open fuse, etc. Check your 12V high current connections, or call a mechanic.
That is all very interesting. I think the car just simply got tired of having resistance and more or less just said "Shucks, I think I will keep my battery, starter and alternator good, but no more of this resistance business for me".
Hope this helps.
Check WHAT resistance? there are thousands of points where you could make this measurement, and almost all of them are meaningless in a car.
And you can't make a valid resistance reading without removing all power, which includes disconnecting the battery.
My car does not run. I decided to check my car for resistance ohms. I was getting some good readings with the multimeterwhen I try to start the car, so I figured my spark plugs were bad. But I decided to check it for the 4th time and I got nothing on the car. My battery starter, and alternator a good. Why would the car stop having resistance?
