Why is my car overheating? Hot A/C?

Hi so what do you expect from a 13 year old car is the question. so it has had 13 years of abuse and poor owners and now it is expected to be like new.well sorry to tell you this is not how it is. old cars from the age of 6 years old start to have problems.WEAR being the main one then systems like air conditioning start to pack up. so this one has lasted well. the pipework becomes porous so the pipes leak and gas escapes so it does not work as well. at low engine revs the compressor pump is so worn it is a wonder it works at all. so time to take all this on board with an old car.

I think you haven't put your engine off for so long. Or maybe your battery is running out. I'm sure its not really anything to do with your ac.

Did you open the hood could feel it was hotter then normal? Can be the radiator not circulating, the fan not turning on, or water pump

Replace radiator cap and replace thermostat, check fan clutch for resistance if none replace it also.

NEIN... ist overheat!!! go und get it repaired before yulll blow a circuit.,

It started about a month ago, the A/C only blew cold air of I was driving and the RPM's were at 300 or above if I was coasting and the RPM's were about 200 or below the air got hot and the temperature gauge slowly creaped up to the H. The temp. only went down when I had the peddle to the floor im guessing the air coming through cooled it down. If im stopped at a stop light for even 2 minutes it over heats and blows hot air. Ive tried keeping the A/C off but it still over heats. The car is a 2001 Mitsubishi Montero with over 175,000 miles. It also has an oil leak but I make sure I put a qt in when it gets low. Can anyone give me an idea as to what the problem is and how to check it? Please dumb it down for me as I know very little on the topic. Thanks!
