And Also Will Truck run If I disconnect the alternate

.... You're going about the test wrong. The test is disconnect the BATTERY and the alternator will keep the engine running or it should. Nothing about disconnecting the alternator.

Hello

Needs battery to run and alternator to keep running

Disconnecting alternator while engine is running is single best way to fry all the computers and electronics in your truck. That technique is OBSOLETE and has been for at least 30 years.

Stpaulguy is spot-on: disconnect the battery while engine is running in a modern vehicle and you can likely destroy all the electrics........computer modules are VERY expensive to replace.

the battery is there to do 3 things. one, it starts the engine by providing power to the starter. second, it buffers or absorbs the ac voltage that has left the alternator. it may not be much but the cpu can see that as a signal and trigger issues. the last thing that it does is provide additional power to devices that consume more amps. pulling the alternator will not do you any good. the engine may run fine for a while but it will not start after that.

To turn the starter. If it is not a diesel it will not run.
