Who should i ask to get my car fixed?

I have a 2005 buick rendouvous that has a broken steering rack, and its leaking.

I'd go to a frame, alignment, or collision shop, and a dealer as last resort and in that order if you have to guess who's going to charge the most, and which kind of shop actually done the job the most, since they'll have the most real-world assessment of the parts & labor + special tools involved. I know the power steering rack on a 96 regal cost $450 two years ago, but the bummer is the seals that were leaking (2 of them) cost under $10 each.

You ask the car repair fairy. Seriously, take it to a trusted shop or Buick dealer and ask them to fix it.

Before spending all the money to replace a power steering rack I'd highly recommend buying LUCAS brand power steering additive and having someone drain some of the PS fluid out and adding the LUCAS additive. The seals in the PS rack harden and start leaking out the ends of the rack and fill the bellow boots. I've used it in many gm vehicles and although it takes a good 6 weeks to soften the seals so they don't leak the stuff really works great. It's under $8 and available at Advance auto. You need to know a bit about power steering systems and how to drain some of the fluid out to make room for the LUCAS additive to fit in the reservoir. I have used a turkey baster to draw fluid out of the reservoir which makes room for half of the bottle of additive and then adding more as the seals still leak until they get conditioned and soft again. the PS pump will make noise until the thicker additive mixes with the PS fluid. Just drive it and the noise will go away.

Take it to a GMC (buick) dealer if you can.
