Or maybe theres no gas? When a car is low on gas it can do this.
First thing is tune-up;
spark plugs, spark plug wires, PCV valve, fuel filter, air filter.
More advanced;
EVAP solenoid, fuel pump, vacuum leak, dirty MAF sensor, bad alternator, short circuit in charging system, loose/corroded battery connections.
Terrible question and terrible answers, go figure.
Year, make, model, engine size, mileage?
Have them hit the fuel pump reset button in the trunk. That's a safety feature in case the car gets into an accident but sometimes they go off when you hit a bump.
what year and model car? could be anything from electronic control module to fuel filter or fuel pump!
A faulty CAS ( Crank Angle Sensor ) will allow the car to start but run roughly then turn off after about 3-5 seconds, can't really suggest much from the information your giving. If you get any more information please share and I will do my best to help.
Cheers.
Okay.. my friend is somewhere in the middle of nowhere. She doesn't know whats wrong with the car. She said it starts but then it just dies. She said it's not the battery. Her dad is with her and they still don't know what's wrong. What could it be? Maybe I need more info but that's all I got from em.
