and if you are in ChE or ME - Partial Differential Equations for Engineers
I am a Civil Engineer and I have found that you really need to be strong in Algebra and Trig. You will start and finish Calculus in the Engineering program, but I have found that you don't use it on the job. The point of you going through all that math in college is so you understand where all these algebra equations you are using came from. I found that above the 3000 level in engineering courses, math beyond algebra and trig are rarely used unless you are going into electrical engineering.
You will need linear algebra, vector analysis, tensor analysis, and calculus, at least. If you cannot handle those the same as reading a book, you will be lost in engineering.
**** tons of math.
I want to begin studying civil engineering at University however maths really isn't my strongest subject. I'm okay at it, but if it gets complex I get strongly frustrated. Should I considered a different field of engineering? If so, what? Thanks
