Probably going to be a fair bit of work to get to the bulbs and make sure they are the culprit and not some connection. I fault GM (and any other maker that does the same thing) for not using LED's in the cluster positions, so that you don't end up with a black dash. I know Chrysler used incandescent bulbs into the 2000's, and to have to disassemble half the car so you can read your speedometer at night due to a failed bulb that could have been eliminated with $10 in parts (on a $25,000 car) is ridiculous...the repair bill from a shop for the labor is going to be $500+, the parts probably $2.
Unfortunately due to the dimming aspect, you can't just throw LED's into your dash and have them work properly. If you opt to replace the bulbs with exact replacements (incandescents) realize that it is best at night to have your dash lights dimmed as much as possible (helps your vision of the road) and additionally, as there will not be as much power going through the bulbs when dimmed, they will last proportionally longer. As a made up example, if the bulb lasted 1 hour at full brightness, at half brightness it would last 2 hours. That is true of incandescent bulbs, but obviously for dash lights the life is measured in thousands of hours...but even then, they lasted 17 years thus far, dimmed halfway, you'd be looking at 34 years. Obviously as a mass produced item that has a filament susceptible to failure due to vibration lifespan is not a given, but dim bulbs will last longer, bar none.
Light bulbs do go bad. In a Cadillac, you might have to do major dash surgery to get at the bulb- I don't know for sure. After you have checked all the fuses and found them all to be good, go to the library and look in Chilton's Auto Repair manual to see how to change the light bulb that burned out. You might just decide to live with the condition. If you're lucky, the baby turned off the dashboard light while you weren't looking and all you need to do is turn the light back up.
I'd look in the owners manual for the dimmer location, but that's just me.
It will be one or more bulbs that have failed, not a fuse......
In my 97 cadilliac Seville I have problem with seeing the speedometer at night I can see my mileage and what gear I'm in on my dashboard just fine but my Rpms and speed are just dark so what do I change?
