What causes a Automatic car to stall?

Can be several things. Check for vacuum leaks. Otherwise fuel enrichment device or idle speed control valve issues.

Not everything shows up on fault codes. Here garage needs live data display when testing. Technician also needs to be skilled enough to use the live data to se what is occurring. Main dealers can do this.

Bear in mind idle speed needs to be correct and al autos put a slight load on engine when selecting drive..so fuel enrichment device needs to be working.

Anti stall unit.

What causes every car to stall when the fuel filter has never been changed?

Silly Sod, the latest in a long line of Yahoo non-mechanics has no clue that your car has no choke.

It could be stalling due to the temperature sensor not telling the ECU to put the automatic choke on.

there are a lot of problems associated with these gearboxes. only a dealer can sort it out.

I have a vauxhall corsa semi automatic, the car is three years old.

The engiene light came on a few weeks ago and I had this checked and they said there was a fault in the engiene cooling system, this turned out to be the coolant temprature sensor, I didn't get this replaces straight away, the day after my car stalled when it was at a stand still, it started back up fine but soons i put it back into auto it stalled again,

No new fault codes were found. Any idea what this could be ?
