a.) 1N device called Diode which is like a valve, and it allows current to flow in only one direction.
b.) 2N device called Transistor, which is like a switch that switches on or off the flow of current in a circuit.
Transistors are of two main times.
i) Current biased. The current biased transistor is switched on when a current is applied to the base of the transistor. It is called bipolar transistor.
ii) Voltage biased. The voltage biased transistor is switched on when a voltage potential is applied to the gate of the transitor. It is called Field Effect Transistor.
The uses of the transistors is to amplify signals and control large currents. It is used in radio to amplify the radio signal in the antenna and make it heard at the loudspeaker. It is used in solar panels to control the current for motors and also to charge batteries. Transistors are used in computers to process and display the information.
