its possible.. but highly inefficient. I have popped more door locks with a coat hanger and pliers than I can count. Just about every single lock configuration you have seen. the shoe string can work but you need to be able to pull the door far enough out to slip it in. I work at a grocery store and many people lock the keys in the car. Well I'll get a page on the radio and go pop the lock. my method isnt as clean and precise as others and may damage the gasket around the door. if you know what you are dealing with and how to bend the wire few locks cant be pulled.. My record I think was about a minute to bend the wire and pop the lock. it REALLY makes you think about how safe your cars actually are and I cared if I damaged the car so think if someone doesnt care. I know if a window is rolled down moore than a half inch I can pull up on the window and remove it from the track and the window slides down. and few people think about the other doors I mat have a better angle due to the grip on the door to the gasket or whatnot. so the drivers door isnt the only access point.
Older cars had lock buttons in plain view and close to the end of the window. they also had gaps that allowed more access.
So every car's unlock has it's own set of circumstances.
I once opened a jeep for a lady with a lipstick and the seat release
connecting rod from my pickup.
We used to call it McGyver'ed it.
Nowadays the lockout kit is about 80 bucks, and you cant buy it. So you call pop-a-lock or AAA, or use your head and put the spare key in your wallet or a good hiding spot.
Unfortunately this avails your key to creeps whose mothers punched themselves in the stomach alot during pregnancy. but I digress.
Yes, the shoestring thing works but it does take practice. Works best if you wedge the top of the door open a crack with a magazine or stick. Your wallet makes a good wedge too.
Yes you can. Unlocking cars is easy.
Not true or practical!
I read you can unlock a car with a shoe string by putting a loop in it and running it up and down the crack of the door until u catch the lock and pull it up is this true ?
