Now that you've wasted money on a PCM which part should you throw at it next?! You should check for injector pulse with a noid light next. if there is no flashing noid light and no spark it's usually a bad crankshaft sensor. By the time you take the crankshaft pulley off and timing belt covers off you also need to figure out if the timing belt has ever been replaced. I'd highly recommend having a mechanic diagnose this and do the required repairs as you are in this over your head already.
More than likely, you need to change the *crankshaft position sensor which sends TIMED electrical impulses to the ignition coils to fire the spark plugs. If it is dirty, change your motor oil to 5W-30 Mobil1.
The vehicle is a 2001 Toyota RV4 4WD automatic. Automatic transmission. Since you are not a mechanic you do not get to guess nor ask others to guess as to what could be wrong with this complex machine. People go to schools to learn, to be supervised and to be certified as auto technicians. There are tests and equipment for these tests that in the hands of skilled technicians determine what is not working in our transportation machines. You have guessed incorrectly and now you are asking for more incorrect guesses. I suggest that you do not guess and to have this vehicle towed to an auto repair service.
I have a Toyota Rav4 2001 model, 4WD and it's an Auto Trans. Everythin' goes on but does not start, it even cranks but seems dead to run. When I removed the coils to check for pulse, there was no spark at all. I thought it was the ECU and I got another one and tried it but seems like even that ECU failed. One of the ECU's had to work, it can't be the ECU. What else could it be? Need help.
