Some cars power the lights right from the light switch, others provide power through the body control module, other provide power through the intelligent power module.
In other words, since you didn't list year, make, model, it's impossible to answer your question. Did you really think all cars are wired exactly the same?
Bad bulbs and bad flasher relay. Make model and year is required info Not going to guess which one of the thousands of tricycles on the side walks your riding ?
Don't supply required info don't expect a accurate answer
Hope it helps

there is another simple possibility.
if this employs an 1157 dual elliment bulb as tail-running/brake/signals, it could easily be just a bulb issue.
think about it.
normally,
tail/running lights are dimmer. brake and signals are brighter. w/lights on, signalling and braking same time, one side will blink the bright elliment. while the other side will stay bright to indicate braking. all the while, the dimmer elliment, on both sides reflecting tail/running lights.
if one did not notice an issue till one side (1157) went totally out, it would seem like no power was getting to the side.
just a simple, and not unlikely issue. bulbs are cheap!
not to exclude other issues or other replies. just adding food for thought.
I doubt that the bulb would be bad but I'd check for a good ground on the bulb housing.
Bulb, bulb socket or no electricity to the socket.
MAKE AND YEAR OF CAR CAUSE WE CAN'T SEE IT
You want to "laz out" then my answer is "Door C Bob"
easiest place to start,...is with the bulbs
What could be the problem?
