Solve: 0.6x-1.8 = 1.2x?

How do you solve this and whats the answer thanks

0.6x-1.8=1.2x

collect like terms

0.6x-1.2x=1.8

-0.6x=1.8

make x the subject of the formula

x=1.8/-0.6

x=-3

Subtract 0.6x from both sides:

-1.8 = 0.6x

Divide both sides by 0.6:

-3 = x

0.6x-1.8 = 1.2x subtract 0.6x from both sides

-1.8 = 0.6x divide both sides by 0.6

-3 = x

Get rid of the decimals as often as you can.

Multiply throughout by 10

This will give you

6x-18=12x

arranging like terms gives you

12x-6x = -18

6x=-18

x=-18/6 = -3

How do you solve this and whats the answer thanks
