So, somethings draining.
Or something not charging.
You can NOT take back a battery.
It is useless now, because they can't sell it to anyone else.
But it could be the oil, starter, engine ground strap, crossing plug wires, or starting slow for any number or reasons. They always say the battery is bad, so never have them test it. Get a voltmeter and test it yourself.
I would leave the new Walmart battery in there. A 3-4 year old battery is not going to last much longer and will leave you stranded one day. Take the old battery and turn it in to get your $12 core fee back from walmart.
News Flash: The same company (Johnson Controls) makes Interstate, Walmat, Sams Club and Auto Zone Batteries. If you had listed exact method Auto Zone used to test your battery it would give us a clue if it was done correctly.
An ordinary voltage test tells you exactly nothing! A battery *load test will tell you the reserve amperage capacity. Amperage spins starter motors not voltage. As a matter of fact, a battery can "appear" to be fully charged @ 12.6 volts yet have little or no amperage capacity.
Have you touched your battery terminals with an inexpensive volt meter with the engine running to see what the charge rate of your alternator is? It should be between 13.5 - 14.2 volts.
Any trusted private mechanic can do all of the above tests plus a starter amperage draw test.
For the above non-mechanic's information: More batteries bite the dust in Summer heat than Winter cold.
Idk batteries last about 3-4 years so idk if it actually has another year.. Depends where u live. If u live somewhere where its going to be cold in a couple months, dont et itZ cause ur battery will die . But if u love somewhere warm, then ur battery might make it.
My car was cranking slower than usual, so I went to Autozone for their free check. Their tester said my battery was bad, so I went to Walmart and bought a Everstart Maxx since Autozone's batteries are overpriced, and it still cranks slow. The old battery was a 4 year old Interstate. Had it tested at a different Autozone, and they said it was still good, and just needed a charge. Should I put the old interstate back in, or keep the new Walmart Everstart I put in yesterday? Guy said the Interstate probably has another year left in it.
