did you put the new filter on backwards? Did you put at least 3-5 gallons of gas in? Turn off all the noisemakers and listen closely when the key is turned on you should hear the fuel pump run for about 2 seconds and stop.
never crank the engine when there is no gas in the tank
because that will burn out the fuel pump and then the car wont start
modern cars have the fuel pump inside the gasoline tank, and the gasoline lubricates the fuel pump, so cranking the engine without gas will burn out the fuel pump

Put more gas
Turn the key to "on" but do not crank the engine, count to 10 then crank the engine, it will start then if it has an electric fuel pump.
I put gas in and a cleaner for fuel
You may need to put more in but what you put in the gas can should get you to the gas station.or did you even put gas in?
