prevent destructive short cycling. Because many small
A/C units use a capillary expansion device, initial loading
on the compressor will prevent starting until the system
has equalized.
You have probably seen warning labels:
"Wait three minutes before restarting!"
on units without delay protection.
Defrost control timers on domestic refrigerators
only delay evaporator fan operation until the
the defrost termination thermostat has re-closed
following defrost.
I have never seen a time delay timer in a household refrigerator . Ironically, I have recently installed one at the supply of my refrigerator to cover the odd cases when some one in the building messes up with the electricity board. The compressor can burn out if switched off and on too soon.
Normally, for refrigerator with defrosting system a timer is used to switch off the compressor while switching on a heater to melt down the ice into water that goes to drain on a tray on top of the compressor to help in cooling it .
Household fridge never build with timer and it never need time delay to operate.
actually refregirator has a timer function in it.
it is for the compressor to cool or liquify the refregerent gas.
but it is actually not done by a timer control... from my experience, we uses stabilizers for that purpose....
