Pt cruiser will turn over but not start?

check compression. we may think we have everything ok..possible to fit cam crank timing 180 degrees out etc.

once we know compression is ok ( if not check we have not bent valves or timing is wrong) we only need spark and fuel with of course good timing.

since you say you have no spark.. then no amount of cranking will fire up. check what we may have disturbed. e.g. crank pickup? are leads on right plugs? is coil firing? do we have power to coil?

Added to what others are saying.

On those engines, if you replaced the cam or crank sensors, you have to plug into the diag port and have them "synchronized" with a Chrysler scan tool.

Also, Neons and PT cruisers of that year also suffer from bad wiring on the engine harness. They often fail and wires will short together.

It would be best to find a local shop to take it to and have them troubleshoot it for you.

Take the car to a professional and pay to have the belt put on properly. It's possible that the engine has now been damaged but you'll have to get the belt installed before you'll know.

no spark could be the coil or module went bad ! before buying a new coil or module take them off and have them checked out !

ok I've just got done replacing the timing belt on a 2001 pt cruiser and it started three times and ran great but the idle was not good so i took the belt off and relined ever thing back up and the cams and crankshaft are dead on know with the belt on but know it will turn over but wont start. I can smell gas so it is getting gas but no spark and I can hear pupup out of the exhaust any ideas
