The best solution was to have the tank pumped dry and then refilled. Some modern diesel engines do not like even a small amount of diesel.
Do not start the car. Have it towed to a dealer or other trusted garage and drain all the fuel from the tank.
Gasoline fuel can destroy a diesel engine rather quickly.
That much gas in a diesel tank "shouldn't" cause to many problems. Unless of course it messes up your Cat. Keep the tank topped up with diesel and it will either dilute or evaporate.
That much gas will hurt the engine a gallon or two won"t but never any more than that
# 1....it won't sit on top...it will mix in with the diesel.
# 2..............if that amount is one dollar and 60 cents....you'll likely be O K just keep topping off with the right stuff................if it's 60 dollars..............dont run it
No, the tank must be drained. The 2 fuels can not be mixed, you will blow the motor.
empty the tank and refill it with the right fuel.
The guy who pumped my gas starting putting gas in my diesel fuel engine and right away I took it out but he put in 1$60 about of gas and then he filled it with 20$ diesel and he said the gas sits on top of the diesel so I won't have to worry about it being used until my tAnk is almost empty. What do I do and is what he said true!!
